Make a Difference in Our In-School & After-School Cohorts
Join CPYA in empowering youth through mentorship, academic support, and non-contact Olympic-style boxing training. Our volunteers play a crucial role in helping students build confidence, discipline, life skills, and leadership. Whether you’re an educator, mentor, athlete, or community advocate, your time and passion can create real impact.
📚 Volunteer Roles
1. Academic Tutor / Mentor
Help students improve in core subjects such as reading, writing, and math. Support youth with homework, goal setting, and leadership development. No boxing experience required.
Assist with academic support and enrichment activities
Encourage a positive mindset and social-emotional learning
Ideal for educators, college students, or professionals who love working with youth
2. Boxing Training Assistant
Support our non-contact Olympic boxing sessions alongside certified CPYA coaches.
Help facilitate boxing drills, warm-ups, and conditioning
Assist during leadership & discipline workshops
Requires USA Boxing Coaches Background Check and SafeSport Certification (assistance available for certification process)
This role is ideal for current or former athletes, trainers, or fitness professionals who are passionate about youth development.
🕒 Volunteer Time Commitment
Program Days Available Typical Time
In-School Cohorts 2–4 weekdays Between 8:00 AM – 2:30 PM
After-School Programs Monday–Friday 2:30 PM – 5:30 PM
Weekend Support (Optional) Saturdays 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Volunteers may choose consistent weekly support or occasional participation based on availability.
🎯 What We Look For
Passion for youth development and community empowerment
Positive attitude and strong communication skills
Commitment to safety and professionalism
Ability to lead by example and work collaboratively with students and staff
Experience in education, sports, mentoring, or SEL is a bonus, but not required for all roles.
🚨 Requirements (Boxing Assistance Volunteers Only)
To support boxing training, you must:
✔ Complete USA Boxing Coaching Background Check
✔ Complete SafeSport Certification
✔ Follow CPYA safety and non-contact boxing protocols
CPYA can guide volunteers through certification steps.
